Body Found Tuesday Morning At McFarland Boulevard Gas Station
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, who is handling the investigation, said the deceased subject was a known transient in the area
A death investigation is underway but believed to be non-criminal in nature after a body was found at the Marathon gas station at 4130 McFarland Blvd. East Tuesday morning. The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, who is handling the investigation as a matter of protocol, said the deceased subject was a known transient in the area.
The Violent Crimes Unit said in a press release that at approximately 8:20 a.m. Tuesday morning, police were called to the gas station following a report of body being found in the store's parking lot.
"Normally information regarding investigations of a non-criminal nature is not released," said Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the unit. "But I believe there was some social media traffic regarding this incident and wanted everyone to be aware."
