Going to a Go-Go for Alameda Schools

Evening of live entertainment and dancing stars top, nationally-known talent and benefits music, art and drama in Alameda public schools.

Going to a Go-Go for Alameda Schools

On Nov. 9 from 7 to 11 p.m., guests can shake off the cares of the world at a good old fashioned “Go-Go” at the Elks Lodge Ballroom, 2255 Santa Clara Ave.

“Going to a Go-Go” stars Talk of Da Town, the widely acclaimed mo-town and doo wop a cappella group that was a season two finalist on NBC’s “The Sing Off,” featuring Haight School’s Andrew Lockwood.

The evening also stars The Devil-Ettes, known for their high-energy Go-Go shows that are described by the San Francisco Bay Guardian as “a cornucopia of nonstop American kitsch,” featuring Edison parent Dorinda von Stroheim.

MC Pete Fletcher, DJ for Pete Fletcher’s Hand-Picked Oldies Show and proud parent of two Alameda public school graduates, rounds out the evening entertainment, which also includes complimentary light fare and a no host bar.

A portion of the proceeds from “Going to a Go Go” will benefit music, art and drama in Alameda public schools via the Alameda Education Foundation’s Adopt A Classroom program.

Tickets are $30 and may be purchased online at www.AlamedaEducation.org

The event is brought to you by “All Together Now,” an annual benefit produced by Drew Harrison and Pete Fletcher for Alameda public schools.
