Man's Body Found In Alameda

Police are investigating the man's death.

ALAMEDA, CA — A man was found dead early Sunday afternoon along the estuary in Alameda, police said Wednesday.

Officers responded at 1:19 p.m. to a report of an unresponsive man. Officers located a body next to the estuary along an old U.S. Navy runway, Sgt. Eileen Tannahill said. The official address is 3000 Main St. Tannahill said the Police Department's violent crimes unit is investigating.

The man's name was not immediately available from the Alameda County coroner's bureau because his family has not been told.
