Gunshot Victims at Albany Community Center
Several Albany police cars converged Wednesday afternoon on the Community Center where two men had stopped after being wounded by gunfire in their vehicle in the Richmond Annex, according to police.

The two men and a woman were in their vehicle in the 1500 block of Carlson Boulevard just before the entrance to Interstate 80 at about 1:45 p.m. when someone in a gray vehicle shot at them, said Richmond Police Sgt. Nicole Abetkov.

The victims' vehicle continued onto the freeway and then exited in Albany, stopping at Marin and Masonic avenues, Abetkov said.

Albany Police Lt. John Geissberger said police were alerted to the vehicle by someone who called it in. After arriving on the scene, Albany police contacted Richmond police, who arrived and took over the investigation, he said.

Richmond police got the call from Albany police about 2:15 p.m., Abetkov said.

The two wounded men, whose injuries were not life-threatening, had already been transported to a hospital when Richmond police arrived, Abetkov said.

Richmond police are investigating the case and did not have other details to release, she said.
