Leaders To Hold Rally Sunday in Wake of Recent Gang Violence

The event is scheduled for 3 p.m. near All Saints Episcopal Church and is a response to recent gang violence in Pasadena and Altadena.

Leaders To Hold Rally Sunday in Wake of Recent Gang Violence

At 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, Pasadena police, city officials and clergy will hold a news conference, at the beginning of an impromptu rally at that time "to show peace, unity, and strength against the recent shootings and violence in Pasadena" and Altadena.

Altadena Sheriff's Station Captain John Benedict is among the speakers scheduled.

In recent weeks, various shootings have occurred in Altadena and Pasadena and culminated Christmas Day with the Pasadena shooting death of Victor McClinton, a long-time youth sports leader and community activist.

Church leaders say they expect hundreds to attend the Sunday event. The rally will be held between City Hall and All Saints Episcopal Church at 132 N. Euclid Ave.

Do you plan to attend the rally? What do you think of the recent string of shootings in the area?
