An Arcadia man employed a complex credit card fraud and forgery scheme for more than a year to support his opulent lifestyle, detectives say.
Prosecutors filed eight felony charges against Feng Xian on Wednesday, including forgery, fraud, burglary and possession of equipment for forging fake credit cards. More charges are likely to come.
South Pasadena police arrested Xian, 21, on Monday after an alert clerk at a Ralphs in the city tipped them off, South Pasadena police Detective Bill Earley told the Pasadena Star-News.
Police found 244 fraudulent credit cards, along with embossing machines and electronic equipment used to create the bogus cards, in a room Xian was renting in Arcadia, the newspaper reported.
