1 Killed, Another Injured After Car Struck Tree and Caught on Fire

A person was killed and a second suffered minor injuries after a vehicle struck a tree and caught fire in the Nuevo area early Friday.

The accident occurred near the intersection of Hansen Avenue and Lakeview Avenue East around 12:10 a.m., said Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman April Newman.

A juvenile was treated at the scene for minor injuries but declined transport to a hospital, Newman said.
