3 Dead After Plane Crash In Big Bear

A single-engine private plane sustained "considerable damage" in the crash, which left three people dead.

BIG BEAR, CA — Three people died in a plane crash Monday in Big Bear, according to authorities.

Emergency personnel responded around 2 p.m. to a large vacant lot at Paradise Way and Maltby Boulevard, according to the Big Bear Fire Department, where authorities found a single-engine private Beechcraft A36 plane with "considerable damage" but no visible smoke or flames.

"There were three souls on board, all of which perished as a result of this accident," the fire department said in a Facebook post.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash, according to the FAA.
