The City Council of the City of Banning is accepting applications for the Sign Advisory Committee (“Committee”). These are volunteer positions and serve at the will of the City Council. The purpose of the Committee is to review the existing sign regulations for businesses and provide recommendations to the City Council on reasonable sign standards and permit fees for businesses who want to advertise their services and products.
The Committee is a seven (7) member Committee, which includes two (2) representatives of the Banning City Council; two (2) representatives from the Banning Chamber of Commerce; two (2) members representing the Banning business community, and one (1) at-large member representing the residents of Banning. The positions that are currently being recruited are the two (2) representatives who will represent the Banning business community and the one (1) at-large member representing the residents of Banning. The City Council will interview the candidates and make the ultimate appointments. The Committee will meet at a minimum of once a month at City Hall beginning in late August or early September. The date and time of the meetings will be set at the first meeting of the Committee.
Applications are available on the City’s website at www.ci.banning.ca, the Banning Public Library, the Chamber of Commerce, and City Hall. Completed applications must be submitted to the City Clerk on or prior to July 31, 2014, by 5:00 p.m.
