Crews had to perform an emergency rescue Saturday.

A person got trapped inside a concrete pipe in Beaumont Saturday afternoon, and emergency crews had to work for more than two hours to free them, fire officials said.

A 9:26 a.m., fire crews got an industrial accident call for a person trapped inside a “confined space” in the Sundance area of Oak Valley Parkway and Starlight Avenue, Riverside County Fire Department Spokeswoman Jennifer Fuhrman said.

Emergency crews had to also go inside the pipe to help pull the person out, as they were about five feet down in the ground.
