Deputies Respond to Bomb Threat at San Jacinto High: Nothing Suspicious Found
Someone emailed a bomb threat to San Jacinto High School on Thursday, a search of the campus turned up nothing suspicious, and deputies were seeking more information, a sheriff's sergeant said Friday.

Police responded about 2 p.m. Nov. 7 to the 500 block of Idyllwild Drive, San Jacinto police Sgt. Michael Canizales said in a statement.

"San Jacinto High School received an email threat about a bomb on campus," Canizales said. "This information was forwarded to the San Jacinto Police Department."

Deputies evacuated the campus for the safety of students and staff, Canizales said. Cal Fire personnel were called to the scene as a precaution.

"The Sheriff's Hazardous Device Team was also notified of the bomb threat as a precautionary measure," Canizales said. "Students were released at their normal release time but were not permitted to return to the campus due to the on-going investigation."

Sheriff's personnel searched the campus and no suspicious packages or devices were located, Canizales said.

"Investigators from the San Jacinto Police Department will continue this investigation to determine the origin of the e-mail and possibly identify a suspect for prosecution," Canizales said.

Anyone with more info was urged to call San Jacinto police at (951) 654-2702.
