The Riverside County Office of the Registrar announced Friday that anyone interested in running for office may take out candidate filing forms beginning Monday, Feb. 10.  They they have about a month to get everything turned in.

"Papers must be filed by 5 p.m. on March 7," the office announced.  "If an incumbent fails to file, the deadline for that office is extended to 5 p.m. on March 12 for everyone except the incumbent."

Here's more info for candidates from the Registrar's Office:

The Registrar of Voters’ staff is available to help complete the necessary paperwork and answer candidates’ questions.  Candidates unsure about the local district offices for which they are eligible, based on residency, should contact the Registrar of Voters for help.  Candidates will receive informational handbooks when they obtain their papers.
