Federal Warrants Filed in Massive Beaumont Mail Theft Case: Police
Police say they have compiled a list of federal crimes the duo is suspected of committing.

BEAUMONT, CA — A duo of suspected mail thieves who targeted numerous community mailboxes throughout Beaumont are now facing federal charges in connection to the case, police said Wednesday.
The Beaumont Police Department says they've been working hand-in-hand with the United States Postal Inspector’s Office and the United States Attorney’s Office "to compile a list of federal crimes" following the Feb. 6 arrests of Jim Andrew Urban, 22, and Lorenzo Alejandro Brambila, 23. Though the two suspected burglars posted bail the same day of their arrest, they are now facing additional charges and warrants.
"The subsequent issuance of Federal arrest warrants is a testament to the commitment to our community and the cooperation between local and Federal law enforcement," police said in a news release.

"By teaming up with the United States Postal Inspector’s Office and the United States Attorney’s Office, the Beaumont Police Department intends to pursue the maximum charging/sentencing in these types of criminal cases. By doing so, Detectives are hoping to deter other criminals from coming to Beaumont to commit their crimes."
Brambila and Urban were initially arrested on charges of possession of burglary tools, and committing a crime while out on bail, according to police. They are suspected of stealing mail from more than a dozen local streets.
