Fire Partially Shuts Down I-10 in Beaumont: CHP
The vehicle fire was first reported at 1:33 p.m. near Oak Valley Parkway.

BEAUMONT, CA – A vehicle fire alongside Interstate 10 in Beaumont caused traffic delays and the temporary closure of freeway lanes Tuesday afternoon, the CHP reports.
According to California Highway Patrol logs, the incident was first reported at 1:33 p.m. on the westbound side of the freeway, east of Oak Valley Parkway.
The driver of a diesel pusher motorhome, which has the engine in the rear of the RV, pulled over to the side of the road upon experiencing some mechanical issues, according to CHP Officer Darren Meyer. It was then that the vehicle caught fire and was destroyed.

The fire department has since extinguished the flames, but was still blocking the two right-most lanes of the westbound I-10 as of 2:30 p.m. Crews temporarily blocked traffic as they were concerned that there were propane tanks in the vehicle, Meyer said.
Photos from the scene show the significant damage to the RV.
