UPDATE: Woman Hospitalized in I-10 Freeway Shooting, Bullet-Riddled Vehicle Towed Away

Police say one person has been hospitalized in the Beaumont shooting. A suspect is in custody.

BEAUMONT, CA — A woman was hospitalized and one person is in custody following a shooting at an Interstate 10 freeway offramp in Beaumont this morning. According to Beaumont police, the incident was first reported at 10:05 a.m.

Right now, it's believed that while a woman was stopped at the eastbound Highland Springs offramp, a person got out of their vehicle, walked around to the driver's side of the woman's Chevy Impala, and fired nearly a dozen rounds into the sedan. Patch counted at least 11 bullet holes or marks on the vehicle at the scene.

The woman survived the shooting and was hospitalized, crews on scene said. However, an update on her condition wasn't immediately available.
