Two Injured in San Jacinto Crash, Murrieta Woman Accused of DUI
Deputies responded to a reported crash with injuries about 1:45 a.m. Nov. 3 on Ramona Expressway, west of Lyon Avenue, Sgt. Scott Burns of the sheriff's Hemet Station said in a statement.
"Upon officers' arrival, they found a Chrysler PT Cruiser and Toyota Sienna with traffic collision damage," Burns said. "The driver and a passenger of the Toyota suffered major injuries and were transported to local hospitals."
The Chrysler, driven by Yadira Gonzalez, 38, of Murrieta, had been traveling eastbound on Ramona Expressway, Burns said.
"The Chrysler entered a construction area and collided with an Arrow Board Trailer," Burns said. "The impact of the collision forced the trailer into the westbound lane of Ramona Expressway, where the trailer collided with the Toyota traveling westbound."
The road was closed several hours hours, while members of the San Jacinto police Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team investigated, according to Burns.
Gonzalez was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence of alcohol causing a traffic collision with major injuries, Burns said. She was booked at Smith Correctional and she remained locked up Monday on $50,000 bail, according to inmate records.
An update on the people were injured was not available Monday. Anyone with more info about the crash was urged to call the San Jacinto police Traffic Division at (951) 654-2702.
