Over the past few weeks, Belmont Parks & Recreation Department staff took on the challenge to beautify a courtyard at the Barrett Community Center. The courtyard was converted from a hardscape of cracked asphalt to a soft, pleasant and usable landscaped area.

The park staff project included design, planning, scheduling, excavation, installation of decomposed granite pathways, concrete walkways, picnic table area, irrigation, drainage, plant material including trees and a new lawn.

City staff has received many compliments from artists, neighbors, instructors, youth sports folks and park visitors.
