Bus Fire Triggers 10 Freeway SigAlert Near 405 Freeway

A bus fire shut down all westbound lanes of the Santa Monica (10) Freeway for 45 minutes.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A bus fire shut down the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway near the San Diego (405) Freeway in West Los Angeles during rush hour Thursday afternoon.

The fire broke out at 4:24 p.m. triggering a SigAlert that lasted until 5 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. By 5:07 p.m., the 1 and 2 lanes had reopened, but three others remained closed.
