Leo Baeck Temple Leader Appointed Chairman of Imagine L.A. Board

Imagine LA, a non-profit serving the homeless family population of Los Angeles County, announced the appointment of Dr. Scott Sale as the new chairman of the board of directors this week.

"I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity to serve Imagine LA, a tremendous and innovative organization working to end family homelessness in Los Angeles," said Dr. Sale in a press release. "I look forward to following in the footsteps of outgoing Chairman Brad Rosenberg, who led Imagine LA in serving 50 families over the past five years.

Sale is a member of Leo Baeck Temple and Mountaingate Country Club.

He noted the framework has been laid to create and "infinitely have a more positive impact" on the Los Angeles community.

"I couldn’t be happier to be stepping into the role of chairman to lead that effort," he said.

Sale has been integrally involved with Imagine LA since 2007, when he became a co-lead for the volunteer team assembled at Leo Baeck Temple. As a part of that team, Sale helped to mentor a family as they transitioned from homelessness to self-sufficiency.

Following his passion for "faith in action," Sale served for several years as the chair of Imagine LA's Faith Community Outreach Council, a role in which he spearheaded Imagine LA's outreach efforts to faith communities of all denominations throughout the county. In 2011, Scott joined the board of directors.

In addition to devoting countless hours to Imagine LA, Scott practices Urgent Care Internal Medicine at Kaiser Permanente and owns a home care company that provides services to homebound veterans and their families. He has been active in dealing with homelessness in Los Angeles for the past eight years.

Sale He was on the board of directors at New Directions, Inc., a non-profit located at the Los Angeles VA, providing comprehensive services to thousands of veterans, from 2004 to 2012; he was board chairman for two of those years.

He is currently also a member of the board of directors for the Westside Shelter and Hunger Coalition.

He is married to Lori, a talent agent at Artist & Brand Agency, and has two children, Jordan and Alex. They reside in Mountaingate.
