Campbell Carport Fire: 17 Cars Destroyed, Damaged
BREAKING: A carport was also a complete loss in the fire that displaced one resident, according to the Santa Clara County Fire Department.

CAMPBELL, CA — Seven cars were destroyed and another 10 were damaged in a carport fire Tuesday night in Campbell, an official with the Santa Clara County Fire Department said. At about 9:54 p.m., multiple callers began reporting the fire adjacent to an apartment complex in the 1800 block of S. Bascom Avenue near Campisi Way, fire department spokeswoman Luisa Rapport said.
The first crews to arrive at the scene found fire actively burning in a carport behind the complex, Rapport said. Twenty-five firefighters and fire personnel responded and had the blaze knocked down by about 10:37 p.m., she said.
The fire destroyed a carport and damaged a second one, according to Rapport.
