PETCO Saratoga Adoption Center Closing Temporarily

Closure due to storewide remodeling project; center closing April 19 and store shutting down May 1; pets to return in the summer with reopening.

PETCO Saratoga Adoption Center Closing Temporarily

Humane Society Silicon Valley's satellite adoption center at PETCO Saratoga will be temporarily closing on Thursday, April 19 due to a PETCO storewide remodeling project, agency officials announced Thursday.

PETCO Saratoga will be closing May 1 for the work.

The adoption center and the pet store support pet owners' needs in Campbell, Cupertino and Los Gatos and agency officials want to share the information with the public so alternative plans can be made.

"PETCO will not being doing any advertising or PR regarding this closure, so we want to give your readers the convenience of knowing where to go during their closure," said Kelly Grant, HSSV's marketing manager.

HSSV's cats, kittens, rabbits and pocket pets: hamsters, guinea pigs and rats, will be moved to PETCO's two other adoption centers at PETCO Sunnyvale, 160 E. El Camino Real, and Animal Community Center, 901 Ames Ave., in Milpitas.

Pocket pets will reside solely at PETCO Sunnyvale in the interim, while cats, kittens and rabbits will be placed at both HSSV sites. Both locations also offer pet supplies.

Please check online for specific pet locations: www.hssv.org.

HSSV's satellite adoption center will re-open this summer with the grand opening of the newly remodeled PETCO Saratoga.

HSSV's adoption center will feature larger, communal pet living spaces, as well as home-like spaces for the public to sit and play with the cats, kittens, bunnies and pocket pets, Grant said.
