PG&E confirms incident occurred Sunday morning at Pollard Road and Avenida del Sol.

Scurrying Squirrel Leaves Nearly 2,500 Customers Without Power

Close to 2,500 Los Gatos customers lost power for a little over an hour Sunday morning because of a tight-rope walking squirrel.

based on initial information from Santa Clara County Fire, PG&E confirms that at 10:02 a.m., a squirrel that had gone across a powerline at Pollard Road and Avenida del Sol was at fault for the blackout.

This caused a fuse to blow, according to PG&E spokesman J.D. Guidi.

Guidi said a total of 2,388 customers lost power and of these, one was in Campbell.

Power was fully restored by 11:22 a.m.
