Smiles While Making Snowflakes for Sandy Hook

A great way to spend a lazy afternoon with your family.

It's hard to figure out your feelings on the matter and harder to find a way to reach out and show your support. But when I first read about Snowflakes for Sandy Hook, I thought, what a great way to spend some time with the ones you love, make something beautiful and, hopefully, help put a few smiles on strangers' faces.

So my son and I got started on these paper snowflakes Saturday afternoon. A few trial and errors later, I decided to do a little bit of research on some easy snowflake designs and voila!

An easy way to include your child without frustration is to fold the paper, cut out the initial shape (triangles work best) and then draw with pencil the various shapes your child is to cut out ( we did this one, thanks to How About Orange blog).

Mid-cuting, Carver asked me why we were making so many. I told him they will make some kids on the other side of the country very happy and he said, 'lets make more then.'
