The Quik Stop on Soquel Drive was again a crime scene Wednesday night.

Gang Stabs Man at Trouble-Plagued Soquel Market

In a matter of months, the gas station and convenience store on Soquel Drive and Hardin Way has become a hotbed of crime.

Following an , and , there was a gang-related stabbing in front of the store late Wednesday night.

At approximately 11 p.m., a 21-year-old Soquel man was confronted and beaten up by five men in the Quik Stop parking lot, Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Deputy April Skalland told Capitola-Soquel Patch.

"They beat him up, kicked him and took off," Skalland said. "They made some statements about being from Monterey. In all the melee, [the victim] didn't realize what was going on and he was stabbed."

The victim took himself to Dominican Hospital, where he was treated for a stab wound on his back as well as minor facial injuries.

Everyone involved in the fight, including the victim, is believed to be "affiliated with a gang," Skalland said.

The suspects have not been located, but the incident is still under investigation.

It doesn't appear related to the prior robberies. No arrests have been made for those crimes.
