On Sunday, November 4th, Castro Valley Sanitary District Board Member Harry Francis passed away at San Ramon Regional Medical Center.

He had served as a CVSan Board Member for 15 years since December 1997.

Harry was a well-known Castro Valley leader who had a genuine interest in providing the community with valuable services and programs. His friendly and honest disposition will be missed by the CVSan Board, staff and community, and serve as an inspiration for all.

During his tenure, Harry served on the many CVSan committees and was a Commissioner on the East Bay Dischargers Authority (EBDA) Board since 1998. He was also the alternate representative for the Alameda County Special Districts’ Association.

“Harry always believed in the importance of Board Members attending and representing CVSan at all of the District’s many events and presentations and, he made himself available as much as possible”, stated Roland Williams, CVSan General Manager. “He will be most remembered for his kindness and compassion towards the entire community”.

Sanitary District officials will select a replacement for the remaining two years of Member Francis’ term from community candidates.
