Cerritos College Launches New Bond Construction Outreach Program

Cerritos College announced the launching of a new Bond Construction Outreach Program, which promotes increased participation of local and minority businesses in the college's Measure CC and Measure G construction projects.

"With the Bond Construction Outreach Program, we intend to create growth opportunities for local and minority businesses in the areas of construction, architecture, engineering and professional services," said Cerritos College President/Superintendent Dr. Linda Lacy through a written statement.

Local businesses in the program are defined as those that have an office located within one of the 14 communities served by Cerritos College: Artesia, Cerritos, Bellflower, Bell Gardens, Downey, Hawaiian Gardens, La Mirada, Lakewood, Long Beach, Norwalk, Paramount, Santa Fe Springs, South Gate, and Signal Hill.

Minority businesses are those certified as eligible who meet one or more of the following: Small Business Enterprise, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, Minority Business Enterprise, Woman Business Enterprise and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise.

Cerritos College and its construction program manager Tilden-Coil Constructors, Inc., will be hosting three contractor outreach seminars at the Cerritos College Teleconference Center (LC 155):

10-11:30 a.m. Oct. 25

10-11:30 a.m. Oct. 31

10-11:30 a.m. Nov. 15
