COMPTON, CA - An undercover human trafficking operation in Compton resulted in the rescue of one girl and the arrest of more than 30 adults, the Los Angeles Regional Human Trafficking Taskforce announced Friday.The operation was conducted Thursday on Long Beach Boulevard and Elm Street with help from deputies from the sheriff's Compton Station, detectives said.The rescued girl, whose age and name were not released, was released to the Department of Children and Family Services, according to Human Trafficking Bureau Lt. Barry Hall.Of the arrested adults, Hall said 17 men were arrested on suspicion of soliciting undercover deputies for sex acts; 13 female sex workers were arrested and offered victim services; and a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of pandering after allegedly attempting to recruit an undercover deputy to be a commercial sex worker.Five pounds of marijuana was also recovered during the operation, Hall said.--City News Service, photo via Shutterstock
