Half-Naked Man In Custody Following 5-Hour Rooftop Standoff With Deputies In Hawaiian Gardens
The man had violated a restraining order and was refusing to come down, authorities said.
HAWAIIAN GARDENS, CA -- A half-naked man who held authorities at bay for about five hours on an apartment rooftop in Hawaiian Gardens was taken into custody Tuesday.
The standoff began around 8:10 p.m. Monday near the 12000 block of Carson Street, according to Deputy Kelvin Moody of the Sheriff's Information Bureau.
The man had violated a restraining order and was refusing to come down, Moody said. No one was injured in the incident.

A high angle rescue team and crisis negotiators removed the man around 1 a.m. Mental health care was provided to him, authorities reported.
