Pilot Hurt in Small Plane Crash at Long Beach Airport
A small plane crashed into a fence at Long Beach Airport, sending its pilot to the hospital.

A single-engine Beechcraft plane crashed into a perimeter fence at Long Beach Airport tonight as it was coming into land, slightly injuring the pilot.
The crash occurred around 9:07 p.m. on runway 25R, and did not affect airport operations, Stephanie Montuya-Morisky of Long Beach Airport said.
The pilot, a man in his early to mid-60s, was taken to a hospital for evaluation, Jake Heflin of the Long Beach Fire Department said.

The plane struck the fence on the Lakewood Boulevard side of the airport.
Motorists were advised to avoid southbound Lakewood Boulevard from Carson Street and northbound Lakewood Boulevard from Spring Street.
