NORWALK, CA — An explosion in an underground electrical vault Wednesday night blew off a manhole cover and caused an SUV to flip and land on its side, causing non-life-threatening injuries to the driver.

The blast occurred just before 6 p.m. on Bloomfield Avenue, just north of Foster Road, a sheriff's lieutenant told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

The woman driving the SUV was taken to a hospital, but suffered only minor injuries, the newspaper reported.
