1 Dead In Explosion At East Bay Home: Con Fire
The person was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center, where they were pronounced deceased, according to Contra Costa County Fire Protection.

PITTSBURG, CA — An explosion Wednesday at a Pittsburg home resulted in a fatality, a spokesperson for the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said. The Pittsburg Police Department called Con Fire around 9:20 a.m. and requested the fire department respond to the scene of a possible explosion in the 100 block of Linscheid Drive, Con Fire Spokesman Steve Hill said.
"Arriving on scene, there was no sign of smoke or fire," Hill said. "Soon thereafter, at 9:23 a.m., Con Fire was advised of a victim at the scene with burns over much of his body."
Paramedics arrived at the scene south of state Highway 4 near Railroad Avenue/ Kirker Pass Road, and treated the patient while awaiting the Con Air 2 helicopter crew.

Once a landing zone for the air ambulance was set up at Good Shepherd Church on Harbor Street, the patient was brought to the church by a ground ambulance crew and transferred onto Con Air 2.
The patient was flown at 9:52 a.m. to UC Davis Medical Center Burn Center, but did not survive the injuries suffered in the explosion, Hill said.

Con Fire directed questions about the burn victim's identity and death to the Sacramento County Coroner's Office.
Meanwhile, Con Fire initiated an investigation of the incident.
"The matter remains under investigation at this time," Hill said in a statement issued at 7:06 p.m. Wednesday.
