A man was injured in a shooting in Pittsburg on Wednesday night, a police lieutenant said today.

Officers responded to reports that someone had been shot in a residential area in the 300 block of West 11th Street around 10 p.m., Lt. Ron Raman said.

They arrived to find a man who had been shot in the shoulder. The victim, a 25-year-old Concord resident, "would not cooperate relative to the shooting," Raman said.

He was taken to a hospital in stable condition. Witnesses reported that the shooter had fled in a vehicle, police said. Raman said two other people were with the victim when the shooting occurred, but that police believe the 25-year-old was the intended target.

He said the victim has a prior criminal history in Pittsburg involving weapons and drugs. No one else was injured in the shooting, which remains under investigation.
