No holiday excites me more than Thanksgiving. Not only do I get to tell loved ones why they matter to me, but it is the day to enjoy the fruits, vegetables, meats and flour-based baked goods of the earth.
But, who am I kidding? I value it mostly for being the day I eat the best and most fulfilling meal of the year.
I've been thinking, and lately I feel that each and every year Christmas is eclipsing this important holiday that I hold so dear to my ... well, stomach.
Witnessing Santa Claus arrive at early Thursday morning left me feeling oddly divided.
While I think its great that kids have Christmas to look forward to, the retail push for earlier cash-flow and profit is really making me feel like Thanksgiving is being shunted to the side.
All I ask is that we wait until Black Friday to start the holiday rush; is that too much?
So, how do you feel? Has Christmas officially hijacked Thanksgiving or is this Patch Editor being a bit of a grinch?
