Update: Portable Potties Coming to Coronado Beach Spot This Summer
The portable restroom the City Council approved last November has been ordered and should arrive sometime in early July.

On April 1, the Council authorized the purchase contract in the amount of $88,000 for a portable restroom to be used at the Avenida del Sol street end at South Beach to provide restroom services during summer months and for special events around the City throughout the year.

In April, the City estimated the ongoing operating costs at $70,500, a figure that included the maximum use of the restroom for six months. However, the City anticipates a much lower operating cost on a yearly basis based on much less use and will report the actual cost when the figures become available.

Creative designs of the exterior of the portable restroom are being reviewed by the Design Review Commission and the Coronado Cultural Arts Commission. The two groups are working together on an attractive and appropriate design.
