Inglewood Hotel Evacuated After Car Fires Spread

No one was hurt and authorities do not know what caused the two cars in the hotel's parking lot to catch on fire.

INGLEWOOD, CA - An Inglewood hotel was evacuated Friday after flames from two vehicles on fire spread to the building.

The fire at the Tradewinds Airport Hotel at 4200 West Century Blvd. was reported at 12:45 a.m., Los Angeles County Fire Department Supervising Dispatcher Kyle Sanford said. It was sparked when two cars in the parking lot caught fire and the flames rapidly spread to the hotel, he said.

The hotel was evacuated, according to reports from the scene.

Firefighters took nine minutes to douse the blaze, knocking it down at 12:54 a.m., Sanford said.

No one was hurt, Sanford said. He did not know what caused the car fires.
