Earthquake Shakes East Bay Early Tuesday Morning
Breaking: The temblor was reported just before 1 a.m.

PIEDMONT, CA — A magnitude 3.5 earthquake struck near Piedmont early Tuesday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey. The temblor, which occurred on the Hayward Fault, was reported around 12:50 a.m.
Residents as far away as Walnut Creek, Alamo, San Francisco and Dublin reported feeling the quake. No injuries were reported as a result of the temblor.
In 2014, a 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck American Canyon in the North Bay during the early morning hours. The massive quake injured residents and damaged businesses. According to the USGS, the Napa quake of 2014 was the biggest one to strike the region since the 1989 M6.9 Loma Prieta earthquake.
