Fatality Reported After Car Overturns, Catches Fire on I-680 in Alamo

One person was determined to be inside the vehicle, which was found at the Livorna Road off-ramp, according to the CHP.

A person was found dead early this morning in a vehicle that overturned and caught fire in unincorporated Contra Costa County, according to the California Highway Patrol. At 2:44 a.m., CHP received a report regarding an overturned vehicle that was engulfed in flames on southbound Interstate Highway 680 in the community of Alamo. The fire was reported as being extinguished at 3:07 a.m.

One person was determined to be inside the vehicle, which was found at the Livorna Road off-ramp, according to the CHP. That person has been pronounced dead. At 3:02 a.m., a Sig-alert was issued. The off-ramp was closed for the investigation.
