Osage Station Park to Reopen in Danville

A ribbon cutting and grand reopening is scheduled for October.

DANVILLE, CA — Osage Station Park Playground, one of Danville’s premier play areas, will be reopening to the public October 3, after a months-long renovation project.

The play area was closed off to the public in early 2016 for the project. During the renovation, existing structures in both the play and picnic areas were taken down and replaced with new high-quality structures. The ‘Old West’ themed playground features play areas for different age groups, as well as new safety surfacing throughout the area. Parents will be able to sit on decorative planter benches to watch their little ones, or enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the many nearby tables. Additionally, the decorative rose boxes have been renovated and made more disabled accessible.

Town of Danville Recreation Services Manager Henry Perezalonso said he is excited to re-open the play area to the community and show off the upgraded and renovated facility.

“This has been a project years in the making, with the Town and community working together on the design and implementation of this renovation,” he said. “I am happy to be taking down the fence and making this great play area available again.”

The ribbon cutting and grand reopening is set for 6:30 p.m. October 3, 2016 at the Osage Station Park Playground. Mayor Karen Stepper will be on hand to say a few words before cutting the ribbon.
