Updated April 26: Don't forget to get ready to read Pleasant Hill Patch on the go by downloading our apps for your smart phone. (Use this link when the site is live on Monday.)

Opening day for Pleasant Hill Patch, www.pleasanthill.patch.com is Monday, April 30.

Pleasant Hill Patch will be a place where you can connect with your neighbors to discuss the things that are most important to you and share them with others by posting your own events, announcements, photos and videos.

We also offer a business directory with free listings for more than 1,400 businesses in Pleasant Hill, including photos and all the details your customers need to know about. Once our site goes live, you can claim your listing, which allows you to make changes to it and use other cool tools. (Watch the video with this story and .) Patch users can also rate and review your business. (Yes, that means you can post a review of the new In-N-Out Burger, coming soon to Contra Costa Boulevard and Chilpancingo Parkway.)

We hope you'll get involved! Our users make Patch lively, interactive information hubs. You can contribute by commenting, submitting events and announcements, blogging or just letting us know what's happening in Pleasant Hill.

We're currently signing up bloggers. If you have a passion about something — your school, your pets, your church, anything — and you'd like to share it, email David Mills, Patch Community Manager/Associate Regional Editor, at  david.mills@patch.com with "Pleasant Hill Blogger" in the subject line. No professional writing experience required!

Mills is also available to speak to local civic/business organizations and nonprofits about how to use Patch.

If you'd like to subscribe to our Pleasant Hill Patch newsletter, delivered to your inbox daily, weekly or when breaking news happens, just post a comment on this story and we'll sign you up or email us at  pleasanthill@patch.com.

To advertise on the new site, contact Ad Manager Chris Beaver at  chris.beaver@patch.com. Beaver can also make sure your business is already in our directory or help you add it if it's not.
