Last week was the biggest game of the year for the junior varsity lacrosse team, coach said. The team played De La Salle for the second time this year and won 10-9.

That win, as well as the previous win, added to the team's undefeated record of 11-0.

In the game against De La Salle, leading scorers were Jeff McGill, who had three goals and two assists, and Andrew Arabejo, who had three goals and one assist.

Goalie Daniel Aguilar continued his outstanding season, said, leading the defense with 14 saves, while Pat Ward was created many turnovers and collecting several ground balls.

The team plays Amador Valley on Friday and concludes this season's schedule the following week with a home game Tuesday versus Granada and an away game Friday at cross-town rival .

"Earlier in the season we beat San Francisco powerhouse St. Ignatius 10-9," French said. "It was the first loss to a California team for the JV squad in over three years!"

French added: "This season continues an upward trend as we have been co-champions of EBAL this last two seasons, however with the win over De La Salle we have a two game lead for the 2012 EBAL championship."
