Walnut Husband and Wife Found Dead in Apparent Murder/Suicide
After a domestic dispute standoff lasting most of Thursday, officers found two victims at 5 p.m., in an apparent murder/suicide.

WALNUT, CA — After an apparent murder/suicide, a man and woman were found dead from apparent gunshot wounds Thursday afternoon inside a home in Walnut.
Coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter identified the man as husband and wife. The husband, Yasheng Zhuang, 68, and the wife, identified as Guizhi Zhang, 50.
Investigators believe the husband shot his wife and then shot himself, Winter said.

Deputies were originally called at about 11:30 a.m. to the home in the 100 block of Avenida Grulla to investigate a domestic disturbance, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Sheriff's Information Bureau. A standoff with officers followed.
The victims were found about 5 p.m., Schrader said.

Sheriff's Sgt. Bill Cotter told reporters at the scene that there did not appear to be a struggle. "At this point and time, very early on, it appears to be a murder- suicide," Cotter said.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Walnut Sheriffs originally advised the public to avoid the area of Avenida Alipaz and La Tortola Drive.
The Walnut Sheriff's Department watch commander advised over its Twitter page that there is law enforcement activity near Lemon Creek Park, but that there is no danger to the public.
