Realignment Parolees Arrested in Dixon, Vacaville

Five state prisoners released because of the state's recent realignment law were re-arrested last week in a Solano County sweep, authorities announced.

Of 24 people checked during the Nov. 27 sweep, three were arrested in Vacaville and one in Dixon, the Solano County Sheriff's Office said in a press release.

According to the press release, arrested were:

  1. Jose Ponce, 27 years old, arrested on the 300 block of Dublin Way, Vacaville for violating conditions of post-release supervision.
  2. Mark Poe, 36 years old, arrested on the 300 block of Shasta Drive, Vacaville for violating conditions of post-release supervision and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia.
  3. Juan Godinez, 22 years old, arrested on the 100 block of Sunset Lane, Vacaville for violating conditions of post-release supervision.
  4. Tommie Salazar, 38 years old, arrested on the 100 block of Donner Drive, Vacaville for violating conditions of post-release supervision and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia.
  5. Michael Doyle, 26 years old, arrested on the 400 block of N. Adams Street, Dixon for violating conditions of post-release supervision and felony vandalism.

The parolees were released because of AB109, the 2011 realignment law.

"The law, which transfers the responsibility of monitoring, rehabilitating and incarcerating certain non-violent, non-serious offenders from the State to the Counties, has affected every facet of law enforcement throughout the state," the Solano County Sheriff's Office said.
