Sinkhole Closes Mile-Long Stretch Of Dixon-Area Roadway
Breaking: The affected road is closed to all through traffic -- including emergency vehicles, Solano County officials say.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- A sinkhole on Hawkins Road in an unincorporated area near Dixon prompted Solano County Public Works officials to close a mile-long stretch of the roadway, effective Friday morning. There is currently no estimated time frame for repairing and reopening the road, according to the Solano County Sheriff's Office.
Hawkins is closed to all through traffic -- including emergency vehicles -- from Pitt School Road to Clark Road. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
"We know lots of folks depend on Hawkins as an alternate route due to the long term Leisure Town Road closure for the Jepson Pkwy construction," sheriff's officials said. "Please plan your route accordingly."
