Beloved Dublin Music Teacher Found Dead

DUBLIN, CA — A beloved music teacher was found dead in his Dublin classroom Tuesday afternoon, school district officials said. According to the district, Daniel Yamaguchi was found unresponsive in his classroom after school hours at John Green Elementary School. Staff members administered CPR until emergency personnel arrived but they were unable to revive him. Yamaguchi worked as a music teacher in Dublin since 2005.

“Mr. Yamaguchi touched the lives of many students in our district,” school district officials said in a statement. “He spent time teaching at multiple sites during his tenure in Dublin Unified, most recently Kolb Elementary and John Green. We are profoundly saddened by his loss and will do everything we can to support the staff and students at Green Elementary School.”

Administrative staff and counselors will be visiting each classroom and additional counselors and psychologists will be on site Wednesday to support the students, staff and community.

Students and staff will have an opportunity to write notes, draw pictures, or share special memories, district officials said.
