Celebration of Life for Barry Taylor on Saturday
A celebration of the "compassionate life" of philanthropist Barry Taylor is scheduled for this Saturday in Livermore. On Jan. 11 at 2 p.m., guests are invited to Camp Arroyo to honor Taylor's life.

The foundation's founder has been mourned since his unexpected death on Nov. 16 after he suffered from a massive heart attack.

Anyone who knew Taylor is invited to share stories and memories about Taylor. Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by emailing: ttff@ttff.org.

Taylor, 74, who is survived by his wife, three daughters, three sons and six grandchildren, was known throughout the Bay Area and has been described as "caring, generous, gracious and genuine" by those posting condolences on Facebook.

In a previous article, Taylor's wife, Elaine Taylor, said of her late husband, "He was the best human being. He cared so much about others, it was astounding."

The Taylor Family Foundation, co-founded by Taylor and his wife in 1990, provides various services for children living with  developmental disabilities and chronic illnesses throughout Northern California.
