Smaller Dublin Recycled Water Fill Station to Shut Down at End of Month
The Dublin fill station will be open normal hours through Oct. 30

The Residential Recycled Water Fill Station in Dublin (6363 Clark Ave.) operated by Dublin San Ramon Services District (DSRSD) will shut down on Friday, October 30. The District’s main Pleasanton Fill Station (7399 Johnson Drive) will stay open indefinitely.
In September, the Dublin fill station served 662,000 gallons of recycled water and averaged 200 users daily. This station provides eight hose bibs that can only accommodate vehicles and pickup trucks, not trailers, and is open three weekdays.
The Pleasanton Fill Station, open seven days a week, served 4,655,000 gallons of recycled water in September and averages 550 users daily. This station provides 33 hose bibs, nine of which are drive-through, making it easier for residents hauling trailers to fill their totes and barrels. Combined, the two fill stations have provided more than 25 million gallons of free recycled water to residents since June 2014.

“As temperatures cool and we approach winter rains, it makes sense to reduce our costs and operate only one fill station through the winter,” says Operations Manager Dan Gallagher whose wife Rosalie was the inspiration for the residential recycled water fill station program. “We opened the fill stations to help homeowners save valuable trees and landscaping during the drought emergency,” he says. “They are meant to be a temporary solution. However, until the drought ends, we are keeping the larger Pleasanton fill station open. As we lose daylight we’ll reduce the hours, and when it’s raining we’ll close, but the Pleasanton fill station will stay open as long as there’s a need.”
The Dublin fill station will be open normal hours through Oct. 30: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. More information is available at www.dsrsd.com/free-recycled-water.
