Kensington police tonight, Monday, issued a news release reporting a homicide discovered this morning.
Police went to a Kensington residence about 11:55 a.m. to conduct a welfare check, police said.
The responding officer found the resident inside deceased, according to police.
"Upon further investigation it was concluded that the decedent's death occurred under suspicious circumstances," the news release said.
"A person of interest has been identified, but currently outstanding, and will be contacted by investigators once located," the release said.
The name of the dead person was being withheld pending notification of immediate family, police said.
Police declined to provide further details tonight.
Working with Kensington police in the investigation are the Contra County district attorney's office and the county crime lab, police said.
