Brush Fire Contained Along I-15 In North County
The blaze broke out off northbound I-15, south of Gopher Canyon Road, according to Cal Fire.

ESCONDIDO, CA – Firefighters quickly contained a brush fire that sparked off Interstate 15 in San Diego's North County Friday afternoon.
The roughly two-acre blaze broke out along northbound I-15, south of Gopher Canyon Road in the unincorporated area of Escondido, according to Cal Fire. Firefighters from the ground and the air stopped the forward progress of the flames.
Firefighters are expected to remain on scene for about two hours to mop up and patrol the area, Cal Fire said.

The left northbound lane was blocked while crews worked to contain the blaze, according to Caltrans.
