Lightsaber Vigil in Escondido to Honor Late 'Star Wars' Actress Carrie Fisher
The "lightsaber vigil" is set for 7 p.m. Friday at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido.

ESCONDIDO, CA – A “lightsaber vigil” in honor of late “Star Wars” actress Carrie Fisher is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido.
Fisher died Tuesday after suffering a heart attack on a flight home to Los Angeles. She was 60.
Lightsaber Team, a “Star Wars” fan and social group based in Southern California's Inland Empire, is planning the vigil. A similar event was held at Downtown Disney in Anaheim earlier this week.

According to an event page posted on Facebook, fans plan to pay tribute at the front steps of the art center facing Escondido Boulevard. If it is raining, the group will instead meet under a covered hallway toward the back of the center, adjacent to the parking lot off Woodward Drive.
Organizers said the vigil will be a time “for coming together to honor and share stories about our beloved princess and general.”
