A motorcycle rider and his passenger suffered fatal injuries this weekend when thrown from the bike in a crash in Fair Oaks, a California Highway Patrol spokesperson told Patch.

The crash was reported about 9:40 p.m. Saturday on San Juan Avenue, CHP Officer Lizz Dutton told Patch in a telephone interview.

According to Dutton, the motorcycle was traveling south on San Juan Avenue, north of Palm Avenue, when a Toyota Corolla traveling north on San Juan made a left turn.

The bike slammed into the right front side of the car, Dutton said.

Brandi Anzaldua, 32, the passenger, was taken to a where she died.

The rider, who has not yet been named, died at the scene, Dutton told Patch.

The Toyota driver and her passenger suffered minor injuries and were also taken to Mercy, said Dutton.
